IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read these instructions carefully before using your sunglasses. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury, including serious eye injury.
INTENDED USE
Pit Viper sunglasses are designed for general recreational and outdoor use to reduce sun glare and provide protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
These sunglasses are not designed or certified for:
- Industrial or occupational safety use
- Protection against high-impact hazards
- Medical or therapeutic use
RESTRICTIONS OF USE
To reduce risk of injury, DO NOT use these sunglasses in the following situations:
- Direct observation of the sun or artificial light sources (e.g. solaria)
- Welding, laser exposure, or environments with hazardous radiation
- Industrial or construction environments requiring certified eye protection
- Activities involving chemical exposure, dust, or liquid splash hazards
- Simulated combat activities (e.g. paintball, airsoft, laser tag)
- Any activity requiring certified impact-resistant eye protection
These sunglasses do not provide protection against mechanical impacts. Lenses are impact-resistant but not unbreakable.
DRIVING & LENS CATEGORY INFORMATION
Lens categories indicate the level of sun glare reduction:
- Category 0–1: Limited sun glare reduction
- Category 2–3: Medium to high sun glare reduction
- Category 4: Very high sun glare reduction
Driving Restrictions:
- Category 1–3 lenses are not suitable for driving in low light, twilight, or at night
- Category 4 lenses are not suitable for driving or road use at any time
Certain lens tints may reduce the ability to recognize traffic signals.
PROPER USE & FIT
- Ensure sunglasses fit securely and comfortably before use
- Improper fit or use may reduce effectiveness
- Always use appropriate protective equipment for your activity
INSPECTION & REPLACEMENT
Before each use:
- Inspect lenses and frames for damage, scratches, or distortion
- Do not use if damaged, as this may impair vision or reduce protection
- Replace sunglasses if lenses are significantly scratched or visibility is reduced
CARE & MAINTENANCE
To maintain performance:
- Clean with mild soap and water; dry with a soft cloth
- Do not use solvents, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners
- Store in a protective case when not in use
- Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures (below -10°C / 14°F or above 35°C / 95°F)
PRODUCT IDENTIFICATION
- Model and lens category are indicated on packaging
- Retain packaging for reference
COMPLIANCE & STANDARDS
Depending on the model and labeling, Pit Viper sunglasses comply with applicable standards, including:
- United States: ANSI Z87.1 (where indicated)
- European Union / UK: Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and EN ISO 12312-1
- Australia / New Zealand: AS/NZS 1067.1
CE marking (where applicable) is affixed to the product.
The EU Declaration of Conformity is available upon request.
REGIONAL INFORMATION
- In Canada, safety information is provided in English and French where required
- Additional regulatory information may apply depending on country of purchase
LIMITATION OF PROTECTION
No eyewear can provide complete protection against all hazards. Injury may still occur even when wearing sunglasses.
WARRANTY
Pit Viper sunglasses include a limited warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper care, or normal wear and tear (including lens scratches).
